Will the world solve the mystery of Covid-19?

We seemed to have almost no clue that the 21-day lockdown would last months, then a year, turning our lives upside down. We started working from home, and colleges and schools started offering online classes. Coronavirus drastically transformed our lives. But what happened to explain the cause of Covid-19 is still unknown. Many theories and perspectives had surfaced, but the search had been incomplete due to a lack of evidence, and time was running out. While most of us had the luxury of enjoying lockdown, cooking, watching movies, and spending time with our families, others risked their lives for our safety. The global pandemic taught us about values and the importance of life.
Origin of Covid
According to research, SARS-COV-2 was caused by animal to human transmission and originated in bats. Others, however, have claimed that a naturally emerging virus created in a lab as a result of experimentation was leaked and infected people outside the laboratory. There has been no specific evidence, but more research is required. The presence of Covid-19 in a wet market was discovered to have no connection to previous cases of the virus, it was discovered to be genetically different from SARS-COV-2 and thus could not have caused the pandemic.
Global impact of the pandemic
Covid-19 had caused a shift and a loss in human life. It has posed a challenge to public health, the workplace, and the food system. Millions of people, approximately 132 million by the end of this year, are at risk of falling into extreme poverty. Informal workers are the most vulnerable groups of workers because they lack access to quality health care and have ended up losing productive assets.
Increased Gender inequality
Many people were unable to feed their families because they were unable to earn a living during the lockdown.Due to the pandemic, trade restrictions increased which resulted in changing the entire food system. Farmers were unable to buy or sell their produce, indegenous people being the hardest hit. Women have been forced to take care of their homes and children due to the job losses which have threatened gender equality. But yet, a pandemic has made progress on clean energy. Co2 has dropped by 5.8%, the demand for coal and oil has increased.
How uncovering the mystery of pandemic will help the future
Many medical professionals believe that discovering this pandemic will aid in the prevention of future pandemics. More scientific research on animal human interactions and how viruses enter humans. Understanding how viruses move and change can aid in tracking down the virus’s origin. The pandemic has widened the gap between countries’ economic disparities. Wealthy countries have increased their investments in health care and business, but low and middle income countries have not been able to do so. More investments in these sectors can help prevent future challenges during an epidemic.
Enforcing international laws
China has resisted further Covid-19 research in Beijing, claiming that it could be a political frame. To understand the COVID-19 pandemic, we should use a system and develop a model that recognises the close interactions between animal, human, and environmental health. Certain protocols must be followed while biologists conduct research, and more international laws must be enacted to strengthen the enforcement of such norms.
Future of such epidemics
Understanding and anticipating pandemic generation, as well as addressing the factors that contribute, will aid in the development of preventative strategies for future. The more time we spend determining the cause and origin of a pandemic, the more difficult it will become for us. Antibiotics will eventually become obsolete, so tracing pandemic infections within a limited timeframe is critical.
Even after we attain herd immunity, possible future revaccination, and treatment of isolated cases will continue to reduce Covid-19 risk. We can all hope that Covid-19 will end so that we will be able to live with the changes brought by the pandemic. Since there has been no significant response from WHO or any scientist regarding the mystery of Covid-19, we must follow all the guidelines made for Covid-19 prevention until then.
