7 remarkable achievements in Science India has seen

Since Independence in 1947, India has been developing in every field, especially Science. Whatever downfalls or recession period that may have followed and might continue to, we still stand tall with the immense progress we have made. We may be still developing but with the bright minds of humans, youth and elders, the rate of that progress may just increase!
Did you know that around 60% of the world’s youth is from India? Well, now you do and the fact that most of them have been a great asset to the country’s development. With such great scientific and tech minds, comes great work and full support from the government.
National Science Day
The National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), in 1986, asked the Government of India to announce February 28 as National Science Day. The first National Science Day was celebrated on February 28, 1987.
Let’s take a look at some of India’s achievements in the field of Science and technology.
‘i-Drone’ vaccine model
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya has launched ‘i-Drone’, a drone-based vaccine delivery model for Northeast states, on October 4, 2021. The i-Drone (ICMR’s Drone Response and Outreach in North East) has been developed by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Institute of Petrochemicals Technology
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology (CIPET): Institute of Petrochemical Technology, Jaipur through video conference on September 30, 2021. The CIPET will provide education to the youth to become skilled technical professionals.
Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Launched
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission on September 27, 2021. The Scheme will come under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the National Health Authority (NHA) is the implementing agency of the mission. Under the mission, every citizen will get a Digital ‘Health ID’, which will contain their health recording tally secure.
First Plant to Capture CO2
Tata Steel has commissioned India’s First Carbon Capture plant that extracts carbon-dioxide directly from the blast furnace gas, at it’s Jamshedpur works on September 14, 2021. With this Achievement, Tata Steel has become country’s first Steel company to adopt such a Carbon capture technology.
Rajiv Gandhi Science City
Maharashtra Cabinet has decided to set up a Science City in Pune on September 05, 2021. The State Government has also announced the IT awards in the name of Rajiv Gandhi earlier.
First ‘e-vehicle’ Friendly Highway
India’s very first Solar Electric (EV) Charging Station inaugurated at the Karnal Lake Resort. With the inauguration of the first solar electric vehicle charging station at the Karnal Lake Resort, the Delhi-Chandigarh Highway has become the first e-Vehicle friendly Highway in India.
First Functional SMOG Tower
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav dedicated the first functional Smog Tower in India at Anand Vihar, Delhi on September 07, 2021. He expressed hope that the pilot Smog Tower project will yield fruitful results and supplement the air quality improvement efforts.
