In recent times there has been a major shift towards purchasing on e-commerce sites. Ease of purchase with a variety of choices, smooth navigation, simple payment procedures, prompt deliveries all from the comfort of our homes have made ecommerce a go-to option.
E-commerce platforms upping their game
Platforms such as Flipkart have upped their game to suit the changing times, with innovative ways to support and help MSMEs grow. Recently Blogchatter discovered how ecommerce is changing the MSME sector and Flipkart’s role in supporting it.
It was an insightful experience to be part of the conversation. To pick the brains of our community we also had a Twitter chit chat to discuss all the ways our shopping behaviour has changed and how ecommerce has made life more comfortable. Our audience found the topic very relatable and the conversation picked up momentum as they shared their work from home stories, using ecommerce sites for essentials and more. The hashtag #ECommerceInnovation trended for more than two hours in #2 spot.
Understanding MSME arena and its connection to e-commerce
Sharing facts on the MSME arena and how ecommerce can help bridge the gap between the consumers and sellers helped people understand the importance of strengthening the connect.
This activity was extended to our bloggers who curated content relevant to the theme. Through their posts we were able to spread the message of how Flipkart has been empowering small businesses, what new entrepreneurs must know, the use of digital marketing to promote businesses. Readers were able to discover the various schemes for new businesses, partnership programs and how choosing a career need not be a daunting experience anymore!
To bring a personal touch to the chatter we had a Facebook live where the speakers interacted with the bloggers, some of who had already dabbled in entrepreneurship.
The chatter around MSME and ecommerce ignited many discussions on social media and indicated that all conversations were directly connected to Flipkart.
Something for the entire community
Since the theme of the initiative was so engaging, we did not want to limit the conversations! We knew many in the community had the expertise to share their views, so we welcomed posts and rewarded the best twenty posts!
Exploring the quirky side of online shopping
To perk things up we had a fun quiz on online shopping. Using memes piqued a lot of curiosity and many organically took the quiz and shared their answers. One of our favourite ways to connect with community is chai pe banter. A tweet during our chai time with questions on our best buys to make work from home easier or asking people to share pictures of their last purchase encouraged audience to participate and flaunt their new buys.
Giving voice to real stories and hope to new businesses
The overall messaging of Flipkart’s initiative was to bring to light how ecommerce has played a crucial role in supporting MSMEs during difficult times and how sustaining them is key to building a stronger ecosystem where the consumer, seller and overall economy is benefitted. Through the various creative tools, the support of our community and making use of their skillset we were able to build this conversation towards a more inclusive society.
