Is the Use of AI Ethical?

AI has become an integral part of our lives right from the voice assistant and image recognition used in our mobile phones to smart homes, one can’t deny how much we humans have become dependent on technology. We can see that Artificial Intelligence has taken the world by storm and revolutionized content creation and marketing. As a consequence, many people have expressed concern about ethical practices whenever AI is used for content creation.
Think about it, how do you know the content generated by AI is not biased or inaccurate information? How do we ensure that our content is original? Ever wondered what factors affect content creation by AI? There are ‘n’ a number of questions like these for which people need a concrete answer to blindly accept the use of AI in every field.
But that doesn’t stop us from using Artificial Intelligence in their day-to-day life. Even kids these days use a mobile phone as if it’s no big deal. Talk about Gen Z’s.
Let’s take a look at both advantages and disadvantages of using Artificial Intelligence.
Risks of AI-Generated Content
We all know that behind every technology, there are a hell lot of algorithms and programs written by humans. And we humans are prone to error which means these algorithms could be flawed sometimes. This leads to the inaccuracy of content, or it being biased.
Furthermore, AI is trained using data sets that could in any case not have every bit of information about the human world. So, the content generated will definitely be impacted by the underlying data set leading to misinformation in worst-case scenarios. This could mean Artificial Intelligence can be easily exploited to deceive people by spreading wrong information while producing mass content.
Thus, no one can guarantee the authenticity of the content produced by AI. It’s safer to say we can dive in at our own risk.
The Good
There is always a safer way to use Artificial Intelligence to produce better content. As a blogger or content creator, you might have tried some tools to produce content out of curiosity. It isn’t right to totally dismiss them as unethical or wrong practices. We can use them while setting some ground rules on when and where to use those tools.
For example, we can use them for suggestions to improve our writing, replacing better words or phrases. For identifying silly mistakes like grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation. Using tools in the right way to improve your writing over time is a personal choice.
AI can aid us in our creative path to an extent, sometimes even more than that but then again, the resulting content will lack originality. They can for sure help people overcome the “staring at black pages” issue quite easily. But would we really want to create content via AI?
Blending the right way
No one can stop the development of technology. So, there is no way to escape their impact on our day-to-day life. Instead of fighting it, we can find a way to blend in and use it the right way. But how?
Before moving forward it’s important for us to keep in mind that how much ever our writing is improved through these AI tools, there will always be a lack of human touch somewhere. It might be easy to write an article regarding technical stuff, but when human emotions are involved, there will always be a lag in communication.
Try to strike the right balance whenever needed and put forth your authentic voice as much as possible.
As technology continues to develop, we have to adapt and slowly figure out how to use it responsibly. That said, nothing can replace human creativity and original style.
