Why does the world hate Elon Musk?

It’s no secret that most people are in awe of Elon Musk. Love him or hate him, you cannot avoid him on the world web.
The enigmatic billionaire stokes criticism seemingly everywhere he goes, whether it’s on Saturday Night Live or space.
Judging by Ashlee Vance’s biography on Elon Musk, a lot of people hate the Tesla owner as he has trampled over quite a few people, burned them out in his quest and then dropped them after without a second thought.
But, why does the world hate Elon Musk so much? Here’s a few reasons we could think of:
Global wealth gap
As one of the richest people across the globe, Elon Musk is one of the most significant contributors to the global wealth gap. Although an impressive feat, this poses a question as to how (if at all) one could become a billionaire through ethical means.
Cryptocurrency
Since the very beginning, Elon Musk has been sharing his opinions on cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Dogecoin. In fact, in a very recent interview, Musk stated that the “three meaningful assets” he personally owns besides his two companies are Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Ethereum – all cryptocurrencies.
However, each tweet of Musk’s has had thunderous ramifications in the rather complicated world of cryptocurrencies. Each tweet determines the financial fate of millions around the world who follow his every word but fans were recently disappointed when Musk announced that Tesla won’t accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment for the electrical vehicles it produces.
Misinformation on pandemic
Continuing with his unpopular tweet history, Elon Musk is said to have labeled the Covid-19 virus as ‘not so deadly’. He also claimed that young people were not vulnerable to the virus despite many young people having died due to it.
Moreover, he had also announced that he won’t be getting a vaccine against the disease.
Remember the saying – “With great power comes great responsibility”? Well, Elon Musk doesn’t seem to be taking this too seriously and that irks a lot of people off!
Treatment of workers
Quite recently, Elom Musk violated labor laws by firing a Tesla union activist and made headlines for discouraging workers from unionizing.
Unfortunately, this is not a one-off event as the Tesla owner has been severely accused of taking advantage of his workers on more occasions than one. He was once accused of paying his outsourced workers as little as $5 and was forced to apologize when this news had come out.
Despite a statewide lockdown in California, Musk opened up his factory and exposed Tesla workers to the Covid virus. There was an outbreak of the virus in this facility.
Moreover, Tesla has also been in the news for issues with gender discrimination, racism, homophobia and sexual harrasment.
Elon Musk is always a trending topic on the Internet, no matter where in the world you’re browsing from. It is difficult to keep up with all the news that comes out of his companies – and it is equally difficult to keep up with Elon Musk himself.
Sometimes, it’s best to just keep scrolling – for your own peace of mind!
