How to get your 10k steps in without losing your mind!

If you’re anything like us, glancing at your Apple Watch or fitness band to check the time seems like a personal attack. The step tracker stares at you and almost seems to take a deep-dive into your soul. Okay…that might be a bit dramatic, but getting in the recommended 10k steps a day is not always an easy task.
While we don’t expect you to run a marathon within your home, there are ways to make sure you meet your step goal and stay fit
Here’s a few tips for that 10k…it’s all about putting one foot in front of the other!
Walk 1000 steps every hour
Sitting at your desk continuously is detrimental to not only your body but also your mind! Set hourly reminders to get up and take a quick walk. A 1000 steps take about 10 minutes to complete so use this tiny break to refresh your mind by listening to some music while you walk the walk!
Opt for high-step exercises:
Incorporating exercises like skipping, jumping jacks, hopping, and step ups will ensure that you get a few extra steps into your daily routine!
Get a pet
Who doesn’t love a furry companion? While pets are amazing in a lot of ways, encouraging exercise is what they do best! Restless combined with little to no bladder control is going to force you into getting up and going for a walk.
Drink LOTS of water
It’s simple: the more water you drink, the more often you have to get up to pee. Help yourself get a good body and flawless skin while taking bathroom breaks!
Walk and Talk
Take your conference calls and brief meetings on the go! If you take calls frequently, this is a wonderful way of making sure you reach your step goal. Plus, you’ll never get bored!
Make it a competition!
Go ahead and get a friend to join you on your mini-adventure! Set mini-goals for each other and indulge in a little healthy competition.
Be patient with yourself
It takes a while to find out what works best for you and that holds true for completing your step goal as well! Try a few tips mentioned in this article and find your groove. Go easy on yourself – you’ll get there!
