Novels like Sumo by Thien Pham based on the Japenese Tradition and others can help create a story worth reading. Multiple authors have drawn inspiration from the centuries-old tradition, which transcends cohort. In this world, many believe that if a story has travelled across generations, then there is a good chance that it will resonate with the audience.
Use your acquaintance for inspiration
Authors have used characteristics of a friend, colleague, or family member to create a personality for the tale. So next time jot down some behavioural points and other traits when you are around people. It will help design a personality for the next story.
Life events
Sometimes a moment can be the motivation to write a narrative or fabricate a personality. Many wordsmiths have done it, as William Styron made Sophie the protagonist of Sophie’s Choice from his own life as a young editor in Brooklyn.
Embrace
Do not be too quick to judge your work. Multiple written outlines for the story will not become famous or will turn into a novel. But it is important to follow it and enjoy the journey of making an ingenious storyline. You just need to remember that numerous bestselling books were brushed off as ‘too reformist’ with an eminent example being Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling.
Penning is not bound to age but is limited by the level of creativity and imagination. Many good novels have been produced by adolescents and some turned into big-screen entertainers. Writing may not be an easy task. But it is also not impossible to produce a good piece that cannot make a place among the readers. It requires a blend of creativity, passion, patience, and dedication. Authors become celebrated writers over a course of time, it is not an overnight success story. Just work consistently and you will hit the right chords.
