When everyone falls asleep and dreams, I lose myself painting incredible dreams, says Nazish

Recently, Blogchatter sent out some beautifully illustrated calendars as a wrap up to the year 2022 to our active community members. We thought you should meet the artist behind those paintings, Nazish Kondkari- also a member of Blogchatter community. We had a little chat with her to understand the creative process and journey of an artist. Let’s dive in!
When did you develop an interest in art? How did your journey begin?
Since childhood, I found myself inclined towards art, but merely as a hobby.
However, things changed in 2018.
It was my cousin’s birthday, and I had no clue what I could do that’d be unique for her birthday. While scrolling on Pinterest for ideas I came across a mini doughnut painting, and she loves doughnuts! So, I thought of painting something similar for her. I enjoyed doing that so much, and since then, there was no looking back.
Honestly, that was a mini painting gift for her, but post that I went on to painting on larger canvases as well. If you ask me how out of the blue, without prior background w.r.t art I started painting, the only answer I could come up with is, some things in life are just magical.
I have also tried digital art like illustrating cartoons and comics. However, painting is a calling for me. I now only do illustrations when in the mood. I also love doing wedding illustrations for e-cards or whenever a client approaches.
Writing came to me the same way painting came to me. I just am blessed with both talents and now I am exploring and evolving both as a writer and an artist.
Where do you draw daily inspiration from when it comes to creating?
I draw inspiration from my dreams, from fellow artists and creative people I follow. There are so many amazing super talented artists around and I draw inspiration from them every single day. In fact, looking at them I feel I am still an amateur and have a long way to go, which indeed is true.
I also draw inspiration from nature around me. Nature is the best source of inspiration. I love painting mountains and the sky.
Has your creative process evolved over time? Tell us more
Yes, I do see a lot of improvements and I feel I am near to perfection although I will still take a year or two to get there.
I am still exploring a lot to get a hang of my own unique style. However, as an artist, I feel we all as creatives keep evolving, and exploring throughout our lives.
For me, art is not merely a work, a hobby or something I wish to use to make money. For me, art is my life. I breathe art, I survive through it. Be it writing or art, both are equally important for me to survive in this not so happening wrecked world.
Do you have an “artist quirk”? Tell us about it
I am a night owl and definitely not a morning person. I am guilty to announce this. Unless it’s a deadline or some urgent project, I only paint at night.
I feel it gives me peace to get set aside all the other chores and responsibilities and finally get lost in colours and a world of imagination.
One message for all Creative Souls out there?
Be real- be you.
I am noticing the panic around since AI is taking over the artist’s living and artists, writers- all creative souls alike are scared they might lose everything.
I feel a human will always find a way to beat an artificial robot that was created by a human itself.
Humanity will always win over something artificial.
Human work is unique and creative. Artificial intelligence work will at some point look monotonous and is definitely unoriginal. And trust me! what a handmade painting, drawing any kind of artwork even digital work that is made by using 2 hands and an artistic brain of a human will always show that uniqueness, that warmth that every artificial intelligence will fail to do so.
This is truly my faith in my art and creativity.
On a closing note, Nazish shares her one favourite thought,
Hard work always pays off. No matter what even if it’s a bit- and if it’s taking you near to your goals or dreams just do that little bit. And make sure to put your heart into it.
With that, our heartwarming conversation with Nazish came to an end. We were thrilled to get some insight into creative processes, inspiration for art and keeping creativity alive. We hope the calendars illustrated by her adorn your desk year-round- a constant reminder of the creative soul within you.
