As the year is coming to a close, we organized a discussion with our community on a much loved topic- books and reading. We were joined by avid readers. They honestly answered about their favourite books, their reading choices, and how many books are piling up. The chat was interesting and running on the #TBRChallenge.
Favourite reads
Reading has been part of our lives consciously and subconsciously. In the conscious state, we develop a liking for a particular genre and specific works of an author, and we take that experience as well as perspective everywhere we go. And it becomes our favourite book or novel. We sometimes bond over our favourite books and novels with a colleague, friend, or community and even recommend that wonderful book to a relative or a friend. Tulika, Kanchan and Kiranmayi have a couple of suggestions:
Quirky reasons to choose a book
Sometimes we tend to pick a very unconventional read. The reasons can vary from the interesting blurb, good marketing, awesome character development or a quirky reason like Paresh tells us (read below). When asked the strangest reasons people picked a book for, we got some interesting answers:
#TBRChallenge and community
Challenges have engaged and connected many people. The #TBRChallenge in particular has brought booklovers together in our community and together we’ve discovered new books, strange reads, reads we would go back to again and reads we probably couldn’t complete. All in all, it is always an engaging experience.
Reading plans and writing
In our busy lives, we set many goals, though it is a different story if we can achieve them or not. Book reading often finds space in the bucket list and as the joke continues, we almost never ever finish that precarious pile of TBR!
That of course doesn’t stop us from making fresh TBR lists for the new year.
Reading lists are meant to stay endless, aren’t they?
Nothing can be better than wrapping 2022 in the company of a favorite novel, a cozy bed, and a mug of steaming hot beverage. See how the community is wrapping up 2022.
We hope your 2022 wrap is as jazzy as ours, with all your favourite books and a Christmassy feel to it.
