After a hearty discussion about all that Pinterest is and can do, we’re finally drawing these 10 days to an end. Let’s take a look at all we’ve talked about so far, shall we?
Through this short journey, I’m sure all of us have realised the potential of the untapped reservoir of information and inspiration that is Pinterest.
Here’s a quick recap in case you’ve missed out on the important parts!
Pinterest is a social network where people can find inspiration and ideas for their interests and hobbies. The social network is huge, and there is an endless supply of ideas for everyone. Although Pinterest officially calls itself a social network, it is more universally accepted as a visual search engine. It’s like Google but exclusively for pictures.
The main component of Pinterest is the “Pin” or the images that users upload and browse through. Pinterest has expanded beyond just images and now allows a variety of visuals including videos. Pins link back to websites which is a brilliant way of driving traffic back to your blog or website.
Similar Pins together form a Board. Boards exist for ease of searchability. This means that one can access a particular board and find all relevant information regarding the topic within this Board in the form of Pins.
Anyone who creates a Pinterest account is given two options:
- Individual Account
- Business Account
While most of the features remain common between the two, having a business account offers a plethora of tools to optimise your presence on Pinterest and reach your target audience.
So, why choose a Business Account for your Pinterest?
A Business account on Pinterest comes with a couple of extra features which can change your entire game. A business profile comes with free access to Pinterest Analytics and other tools that help grow your professional presence on the platform. Business profiles can be linked to a personal Pinterest account so one can easily switch between business and personal. Up to four business profiles can be linked to a personal Pinterest account. Adding a new business profile while logged into a personal account will create a linked account. You'll be able to log in to your business profile with the same login info as your personal account.
