
A BRIEF ROUND UP ABOUT KILCHU IN KOREA
Kilchu (or Kilju) is a county in North Hamgyong province of North Korea. The name "Kilju" translates to "province of good fortune" and was bestowed by the Goryeo dynasty in 1107. The area was previously part of the ancient Goguryeo kingdom and inhabited by various Jurchen tribes before being annexed by the Goryeo kingdom.
